Baton Rouge Residential Center for the Arts
Graduate Design Studio VI
Spring 2006

The site for this project was a lot in downtown Baton Rouge between 2 large buildings; an office and a parking garage. The program called for a building that would house an exhibition space and short term artist residences. From the beginning, I took to the infill nature of the project, so when asked to pick a design intent, I decided to focus on the nature of "infill" by designing around the idea of intersticial space. I attempted to create a building that was a series of spaces between large planes. Thus, attempting to reflect the "intersticial" nature of the building as a whole as well as a series of intersticial spaces.
